Meall Buidhe - Knoydart

946m above sea level in the sun and no wind.

Splendid weather today saw us up one of the Knoydart hills. The area is very quiet and during the whole day only met one other couple who were walking the track through from the mainland.

Spring snows remain on the tops and more are forecast for the coming days. An early Cuckoo was trying out a few notes and there were a couple of Ring Ouzels setting up territories below us. Pellets and droppings on the ridgeline from the larger raptor residents. This place may almost be deserted by humans, but otherwise it is certainly pretty busy. Lots of deer too, busy ensuring the forests never return, and also responsible for the ticks that E collected on the way down.
