Island churchyard

The graveyard beside the church on the Île de Bréhat, an island off the Cote du Granite Rose in Brittany. We wondered if the islanders were guaranteed a lair in their churchyard, or if they had only limited tenure, space being rather limited among the houses and intensive gardening of this amazing island. It has its own micro-climate; on the day we visited, the mainland had been cloudy and bleak, with a fierce wind, but on the island the sun shone and even the wind seemed less as we wandered along the cris-crossing paths.
