Saudi in Crystal

Noticed the sun streaming through the small conservatory and hitting the crystal cabinet. Tried a few photos but couldn't really capture the sparkle that caught my eye but the Saudi crest did.
The set of six crystal glasses were given to us as a present by our good friends the Beecheys'  who we are still in touch with 26 years after leaving Riyadh. 
We were in Saudi for 8 years. Nov 81 - Dec 83 in Riyadh with Lockheed Aircraft, 83 - Dec 89 with Haji Abdullah Alireza (GENTEC General Technical Division) working with the Ministy of Foreign Affairs in the Jeddah Consulate for 2 years and then Nasariyah, Riyadh before and after the new ministry was opened.
Daniel came out with Marlane when he was 6 years old and he went to the Continental school in Jeddah and then the British International School in Riyadh. Johanna was born in Jeddah and Julia born in Riyadh.
What a great start to their life that was, and we enjoyed it too despite all of the horror stories expats tell about Saudi Arabia.
