Proud Penguin

Since today is World Penguin Day (a fact I learned by browsing blip earlier today), I decided to pay a quick visit to the brand new Polk Penguin Conservation Center at the Detroit Zoo.  

The facility is amazing with so many places to view the penguins in action.  It was fairly crowded, but I was still able to get in close and get a few good photos through the glass.  Can't wait to go back and try to get some shots from the underwater viewing areas.  As with the Polar Bear exhibit, It will be nice to go on a day where crowds are small and you can spend some time waiting for a shot without feeling you're taking up space.  But that might not come until fall or winter with a new exhibit!  Super cool building though.  They did a great job with this one!
