Stromness with a background of snow

Over to Hoy for my weekly monitoring of the white-tailed eagle's nest. Did not get a single glimpse of the birds. The conditions may have been a factor- strong winds and frequent squalls of snow and hail. The female was probably reluctant to expose the eggs at all and the male may have been unimpressed by the thought of hunting in such conditions. Or all the action may have happened before I got there. I did see a merlin catch its lunch and hen harrier and buzzard were also hunting.
