Bass Coast Camera Club

It was our monthly meeting of our local camera club. Myself and the lady standing in the photograph started the club earlier in the year, so we are very new and still feeling our way, so to speak. We regularly have 16-20 members in attendance. We are part of the Bass Coast Artist Society and hold our meetings at the Goods Shed in Wonthaggi. The building in the photo was part of the railway line that ran from Melbourne to Wonthaggi and beyond, many years ago. After the rail line was closed, the Artist Society acquired the building from the local council and renovated it. It is a wonderful asset to the local artists and photographers.
Today we had one of our local photographers who spends a lot of time wandering around the urban bushland photographing Fungi. It was amazing and an eye-opener to us all, the diversity and quantity of fungi present, (some of them so beautiful) and so close to the centre of town. Along with Kangaroos, Wallabies, Possums, and a multitude of birdlife.
We had a great meeting with cakes, bikies, tea and coffee at the break.
A lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
