Terracotta Army

I have seen a lot of photos and TV programs of the Terracotta army but the reality is something else.  The sheer scale is mind-blowing.  The individual detail in each warrior is so intricate that they really come to life and give you a feeling for what life must have been like.  This image shows the "Cannon Fodder" at the front of the army who would have no weapons or armour and who were most likely criminals.

If I can upload them,  I will post an extra photo of one of the four farmers who originally discovered them in 1974.  He was rewarded with being given a job in the shop signing books.

We also went for a cycle ride around the city walls and a walk in the Muslim Quarter
