Aye Right!

"Looks like snaw"

"Aye....... right!"

A teacher is taking an English lesson.

"In the English language the use of two negatives in a sentence can result in a positive effect, this is called a double negative. Who can give me an example of a double negative?".

Mary puts up her hand and says, "I didn't not go to school today".

"Excellent Mary", says the teacher, "the same cannot be said of the use of two positives in a sentence having a negative effect, there is no such thing as a double positive in the English language".

From the back of  the classroom a Scottish voice pipes up, ".........Aye right!".
