Quod oculus meus videt

Worked from home this morning, just popping out to the G.P. for more tests.

This afternoon we attended a funeral of Gladys, the mother of one of our oldest friends (no that's not right, I mean to say a friend we have known the longest, from even before we were married).  Gladys's granddaughter, Laura, was a star.  She gave a personal eulogy and tribute to her 'gran', making the funeral all the better for letting us know why Glad' was so special.  At the wake, it was lovely to flick through old images including a lovely scene from the 1950's, with Gladys dressed a la Audrey Hepburn, and her husband Len, looking dapper in front of the Eiffel Blackpool Tower.

it certainly shows the value of photographs and recording things as they happen.  For Len, left alone after 58 years together, I hope it will bring back fond memories of his time with her.

All in all, by the time we got back home it was just the chance for an E.B.  This time a simple display in the neighbour's front garden.
