Coo, it's a cow!

A welcome break in the weather today - with bright sun, low wind and calm seas. It was low tide at breakfast time so we made a stroll on the beach our first priority and took Nell over to Backaskaill.

It was one of those "I can't take photographs!" days. I shot plenty and they ought to have been good but everything was just that bit off the mark today. I'll put some of the least poor ones in the blog later today.

Photographed some obliging and curious cows and got halfway home before I twigged that these were the first coos of the year!  It is good to see them back on the fields.

Wondering however if there is really sufficient grass yet or if the farmer has simply run out of bedding and food and been forced to turn them out. We still have snow forecast. Our garden grass is starting to grow now. Mr L is taking advantage of the drier weather and has gone out to mow those parts of the garden that are not too soggy.

Today's extra pic is something that we don't usually see washed up on our beaches
