"Bought at auction"

This vehicle was parked in the visitors' parking area outside our block of flats in Cape Town all the time we were there! I assumed its owner had been in an accident and was waiting for the insurer's verdict, but it turns out he had bought it at an auction to do up... He may even have driven it in that condition, as it frequently changed position!
