In my family everyone including me is incredibly vain and would rather not be seen with glasses on. Consequently when they come round and you want to show them something they go "oh, I've left my glasses at home". I now keep a collection of chemist's specs for such occasions!

My husband, who had to wear glasses from the tender age of 3, has no sympathy!
