The View from the North

The Boss used to think that Mt Iron in Wanaka was a mild challenge but Te Ahumairangi hill behind Wellington leaves Mt Iron well behind. I could smell the sweat from my spot on his Claytons camera pak and it’s a good thing there was no one to talk to… but it was worth it.

This used to be called Tinakori Hill and was covered in Radio Antenna in the days of radio antennas but got re named some time ago and from The Botanical Gardens it is the start of the Northern Walking Trail which was why we went there today.
23,000 staggers  and 87 floors later (about 1000 ft) and The Boss has decided against dancing tonight.
The grrreat thing about walking trails from Wellington is that there is a Grrreat bus service and you can do them in instalments because this trail is 4 hours one way but we did a loop along the ridge and back.

Check out the extras for trail detail and K9 signage.
