Alms Money

I have mentioned previously that I live in one of four Alms houses, but I may not have said that every quarter, as per the terms of our residency, alms money is given to us,  and at today's value equates to the princely sum of £1.75 p.  I think it is a rather touching custom and makes me aware of the poor people who have lived here in the past and who were probably in desperate need.  I have saved mine up to purchase a beautiful weeping pussy willow tree which was delivered today.  Hopefully it will bring pleasure to many long after my demise.
Now to get planting !!
