Brougham Bridge

This is the other side of the bridge I blipped 2 days ago (see extra).
I have read in the local paper this morning that the Grade II listed  Brougham Bridge is in danger of collapse meaning even assessing the  seriousness of its condition is proving difficult. Cumbria County Council has said that demolition is a possibility. The bridge close to Brougham Castle is dated 1813 and according to Historic England it was extensively rebuilt in 1899. There are fears locally that the bridge might never be replaced if it collapses, due to it being a low priority on the road network with perhaps just a footbridge put in its place.
So my extra photo shows it still standing in front of the castle, I will hang onto this photo.
