Krahbergzinken

We climbed this! We got the cable car up to the top of Planai, then climbed this mountain. It was quite steep but otherwise an easy walk until just below the summit. There the path wends it way along the edge of the ridge with some hair-raising views to the valley below, followed by large metal steps and rope fixed to a steep rock section which you need to negotiate to get to the top at 2134m.

In the winter we have skied the off piste below this summit and have always wondered what the top was like as we've seen skiers climb the peak and then ski the gully. Now we know...and we know to avoid it!! You would need nerves of steel to throw yourself off this mountain in skis!

After this we had lunch at the top of the Paradise ski piste, where this photo was taken. We then descended through the woods, heading for the next mountain and cable car down on Hauser Kaibling. Unfortunately we just missed the cable car and ended up having to walk out of the mountains to the valley floor. Some suffered the dreaded 'stair leg' the following day but fortunately not me :o) It was another epic day!
