Empty Duck Egg

The Mallard ducks who frequent the neighborhood pond are sitting on their nests.
Many of these ducks utilize the shrubbery around houses for cover.
Early this morning we found an empty duck egg, but we've not seen any ducklings as yet.
We noticed a cat we've never seen before hunting around our front porch.
Hmmmm....
