African Scops Owl

A trip out of town today to such far-flung parts as Much Wenlock and Church Stretton. Upon arriving in Church Stretton we discovered it was the Arts Festival there this weekend, which, as the event website puts it 'will kick off with a free display of owls in the Square' - I'm not sure why owls were the opener for an arts festival, or if the owl display could really be seen as 'kicking off' either, but it's always good to look at some owls, they seemed remarkably calm and composed in the strange surroundings, and the people from the owl sanctuary were friendly and certainly knew a lot about owls.
