Day 122/16. At last, a working fountain.

A weekend of electrical diagnosis and repair. The first time our pond was switched on this year (last weekend) the pump blew fuse trips and a new one was acquired. It had lasted over 20 years....
New pump fitted yesterday after a lot of swearing but then the Earth Leakage Trips started to trip. So internal inspection of the external distribution box and the 'waterproof socket' yielded earwigs, spiders and a lot of moisture. So another trip to B & Q to replace them.
Replaced both, but trip still being thrown in the house but not the garage. House trip is clearly more sensitive. So, now the underground cable from distribution box to pond pump is bypassed and the problem solved.
So, a lot of swearing, a bit of head scratching and a good few hours but we now have a working pond pump, fountain, garden light and garden socket.
External electrics is not easy..... Take care out there folks.
