Wound up in Wexford

We've had a couple of days away - a trip down to London.  It all started when I suggested we go to a concert.  Then W suggested we tack on a visit to RHS garden Wisley.  It was only AFTER we planned this that we realised it was Bank Holiday weekend - perhaps not the wisest time to be driving down to London and around the M25 - we were fortunate to have a sat nav that had live updates, and enabled us to avoid spending time on the orbital car park - but the journey down still took at least an hour longer than it would in better traffic conditions.

We contacted some friends who live near London, in case they wished to accompany us on one or both outings.  Unfortunately, they couldn't make it to either, but kindly invited us to stay anyway.  This is a panorama of the view from their balcony - what a wonderful place to live.

The concert was the London Philharmonic Orchestra, playing Rachmaninov's 4th Piano Concerto, and Strauss' Alpine Symphony.  A superb concert, especially the symphony.  I think the piano concerto needs more familiarity to really enjoy it, it doesn't have the immediate appeal of his other concertos.
