Atypical

We had hoped to go to Saltburn for fish and chips today; it would be a tragedy to go home without having had any. But it was cold, wet and windy; the Sea View doesn't take reservations, and we didn't think S's mum would appreciate standing in a queue outdoors for at least half an hour. As the weather got worse, we wouldn't have fancied it either.

So we went to the pub at Chop Gate instead -- last seen here. It wasn't exactly heaving with people; they had about 6 customers. We had our fish and chips, and by the time we'd finished, the numerous soggy-looking walkers we'd seen on the way up Clay Bank must have been feeling gratified, as the sun came out. This was the window of opportunity I seized to take a couple of photos as we came out of the pub. Extra: spot the pheasant.
