I wonder what Jamie is thinking...?

Mr Barbers V Linton Charity Cricket match and an evening gig with the Accelerants.

What a smashing day, the Cricket was great, Alf and his Grandpa (H's dad) played for the Mr Barbers team and they won! Alf kept wicket for the whole match and did a great job, many people told me how good he was. The senior team have asked if he will play for them which is brilliant.

We set up in the Pavilion while the match was on, Ian and I spent a bit of time getting to grips with the new wireless ipad desk thing then new soundchecked.. Sound checking while there were people trying to watch snooker was interesting ;)

We went on at about 8pm and played a completely forgettable set. Not really sure why but it just did not really feel right all evening. Clearly I made some mistakes, but that's pretty par for the course, but there was just something odd about the way the crowd were interacting. I think it is party due to the number of people in the room. Due to insurance restrictions they were only allowed to sell 100 tickets so the room was only half full and I'm sure some of the people were only there to show support to the cricket club (which of course is completely correct) and so were not interested in dancing about to a bunch of born again wannabes. So the people that were dancing (and by jove they danced) were a little lost, usually we get the whole room dancing. This gig we had two or three islands of utterly, amazingly, dedicated, wonderfully coordinated dancers ;)

We also misjudged the timing so did not get to finish the encore.. And I managed to go massively out of tune, and Jamie was sick, and, and, and..

Excuses eh ;)

Anyway there are lots of positives, the front of house sound was apparently great, we got through all the new songs without a hitch and apart from a couple of mistakes we did play pretty well.
