A day of two parts

Morning:  We awoke to big black clouds which emptied themselves of their considerable amount of precipitation at regular intervals, luckily when we were concentrating on all the inside jobs and food and other bits of shopping, only catching the full force of the heavy showers whilst dashing to and fro from the car.

Afternoon:  the big black clouds gave way to beautiful blue skies, some warm sunshine and temperatures in excess of 17degrees - wow!!  I took a stroll by our canal;  Pen Swan is still sitting tight;  Cob Swan isn't being quite so feisty and the two little Mandarins who have graced us with their presence are still around but without their ladies so they're giving a lot of attention to the Mallard ladies, much to the disgust of the male Mallards!!  A 'seeing off' in Extras and 'Maggie' a seasoned traveller.

The early May Bank Holiday hasn't turned out to be a total wash out here after all - hope everyone has had a lovely day too??
