Wet start again

Our last day in the Wirral and our planned ride was to cycle around the headland of the Wirral. We set off (minus 4 who made an early start for home) in the dry, well about 5 minutes before it rained.  We rode along muddy tracks and then along the sea front to New Brighton. This was about half way and I was really brave and got my camera out in the rain.  It looks grim and it was! BUT the rain stopped and the sun came out. We stopped and had tea in New Brighton and then headed inland and cycled home. The beaches were gorgeous and I was so pleased we did the ride. 

We had quite an adventure on the way back to the hotel, which involved lots of wrong turns, cycling up a dual carriageway, around a very very busy roundabout - unfortunately for some twice, and quite a few U turns - not easy on the tandem.

Now safely back home and have had a fantastic long weekend. There is an extra to prove it was sunny today!
