Winter mountaineering in Knoydart

Whilst we were prepared, we were not expecting this. Two days of snow flurries have piled up on the tops of the Knoydart hills, blown up into spectacular cornices all along the ridges. This is the ascent of Ladhar Beinn, up the north ridge from Barrisdale, along the ridgeline, over the tops and the long walk out to Inverie.

The first extra shows the upper section of the route up from Barrisdale and Loch Nevis.
The second shows the whole ridgeline in the clear with the two tops up above us.
The last extra shows the Eastern summit (10m higher), shrouded in cloud taken from somewhere between the two.

Phew - what a day!
