Lantana

Almost the last flowerer in the garden, lantana, (also known as ham and egg plant) is a species of Verbena and originated in tropical Africa and the Americas.

It has no useful medical properties, no use for its foliage or flowers and the only thing that Wikipedia can find to justify its existence is that its tough little branches can be used to make handicrafts.

That saves me a lot of writing, so I am away to weave a miniature basket, the devil making work for idle hands etc.

Please excuse the rather indolent series of blips recently, house full of guests, car b... ggered, so not able to wander far, back to normal next week or at least by the beginning ofAugust.
