Bowood 2016 #10: Woodland Walks (Monday 2nd May)

I went back to the Rhododendron Gardens to test the new camera, using the prime 100 mm macro, and took a few shots in the Jubilee Garden experimenting with different modes and settings, using both Full Frame and the APS-C crop (153 mm equivalent) on this small clump of flowers at the base of a tree. This is a Full Frame shot, taken in JPEG (I've yet to try its RAW capabilities).

Everly Brothers - Crying In The Rain (recorded 14 November 1961, RCA Studios, Nashville TN)
I saw a great BBC4 documentary on the Everlys in the evening, mostly focusing on their period with Cadence. They were offered a million dollars to sign with Warner Brothers but having done so their former manager and song publisher refused to license any songs by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, their principal songwriters, or themselves (although the other side of this single was written by one 'Jimmy Howard' - a pseudonym for Don and Phil Everly). Among the new songwriters they now had to use was Carole King, who wrote this with writing partner Howard Greenfield.
