Remembrance Day...

Liberty is not taken for granted...
Today is 4 May and we remember the victims of World War II and the peacekeeping operations thereafter. 
This year there was extra attention at the memorial for Captain-pilot Michael Donkervoort. Michael was in 2006 from Volkel Air Base in Afghanistan on a mission when he crashed with his plane. His former commander Colonel Bertil van Geel explained in a personal story what it means to lose one of your pilots during a mission. Many F16 pilots were present today... see my extras for more
