Swans

I came across these swans at the fishing lake on Southampton Common today. I presume this is a pair - I think swans mate for life but I might be wrong - and I am guessing that the female is sat on her nest. The other one, presumably the male, was adding bits to the nest. It was a lovely sight to see. I will have to go back and check on developments. We also have a duck nesting by the stream in our garden, exceptionally well camouflaged so no photos but hope to have some when the ducklings arrive, assuming a local fox doesn't get them first.
