Stone Fly?

We stopped the car for G to look at the river and noticed this rather nice fly/beetle on the bridge. The wings have rather snake skin like markings. I've tried to identify from books at home and the nearest seems to be a Stone Fly but if anyone has a better idea ,do let me know.
