One year on

I had to check and it's two days shy of a year since I was last here for a bit of voting action. Just the PCC today but I've always felt that if someone doesn't vote they cannot fulminate on the daftness of the decisions made by those elected.

Isn't there something wonderfully quaint about the process too? In an age where we carry around a great deal of computing power and many can access the wonders of the world wide web from a small device we are given a slip of paper and go into a plywood booth to make a pencil mark. I'm not suggesting that we should do it differently; I think that there is something very reassuring that we're following a tradition which dates back to 1928 and the granting of universal suffrage.
