Delicate and almost transparent with distinctive petals Fritillaria must like the conditions in the herbaceous border as each year the plants multiply with no effort by the gardener (me)

Fritillaria was a favourite of renowned Scottish architect/artist Charles Rennie Macintosh (1868 - 1928)

Drawings, watercolours and used extensively in designs Mackintosh certainly had a love and passion for these hardy annuals.
