The longest in the UK

You are now looking at the longest rail platform in the country. Gloucester Platforms 1 and 2 on the right.
The extra is the opposite side of the bridge showing the main boarding area of platform 2 on the left and 4 on the right.
It's a big bone of contention that Gloucester station is not on the main line. There is a triangle where the main line goes Cheltenham to Swindon so trains stopping at Gloucester have to come off the main line, stop at the platform and while the passengers are disembarking and embarking the driver swaps the lighting system (white front and red rear) and walks the length of the train so he can depart the opposite way he arrived.
Our local MP has big plans afoot to improve access, parking and facilities. Not sure if the main line problem is going to be addressed.

And why was I there at 2100 this evening? Picking up our son, Daniel, who had been on a business trip to Halifax for the past two days.
Had some time to kill so used my little phone.
Hope to have an iPhone tomorrow, courtesy of daughter Johanna and a free swap of SIM cards by Vodaphone.
Camera has been given the go ahead to be repaired, zoom problem again has been confirmed.
