Aberlady

After a funeral (standing room only - for one and a half hours) we drove to Aberlady for a walk from Kilspindie westwards, which took us past the bird hide near Aberlady Point.

It has stood with its back to the sea for well over 100 years, appearing (but not annotated) on maps of 1892, predating the golf clubhouse, which first appears on the 1906 map. Kilspindie itself only appears after 1898, prior to that it was called Newhouse.  Although requiring some attention to the roof pantiles (possible suffering damage from an ill-directed golfball) this little building is quite charming.
