Drinking Up

This little mimic bee was zinging between the cowslips enjoying the sun on the Cotswold Hills this afternoon as was I.

Really just a harmless fly but with a furry brown body and long proboscis it is parasitic on solitary bees and will lay it's eggs in the brooding chambers of the ground nesting bees.

Starting to see the butterflies around a bit now so let's hope the warm weather continues!
