Cherry blossom tree

I have got this as a tiny sapling over 40 years ago from Woolworths. Now each year as I watch it bloom I wonder if I will be here to see it next year
as my three score years and ten are now well past

The loveliest if trees the cherry now
Is hung with blooms along the bow
And stands about the woodland
Wearing white for Eastertide

Now of my three score years and ten
Twenty will not come again
And take from seventy springs a score
It only leaves me fifty more.

And since to look at things in bloom
Fifty springs are little room,
So about the woodlands I will go
To see the cherry hung with snow.

A E Houseman

Love that poem it seems to sum up our mortality, we should enjoy each season
