Frozen in Time

This equestrian statue of King William II is the first of my new weekly Specials series.
It's located on the Buitenhof since 1924 . Originally there was a statue of the king standing made by E. F. Georges, but that one had to be moved due to the new traffic situation.
Because that original standing pose was generally considered ugly, it was decided to replace it with a replica of the statue image of the king ( Prince of Orange ) on his horse Wexy ( this horse died in 1815 at the Battle of Waterloo) , in Luxembourg in 1884.

Because I'm experimenting with nd filtering and sandwich tecniques I felt the statue became even more frozen in time, which insprired for the title.

Have a great weekend and mothersday for those living in countries that celebrate it tomorrow, such as we Dutchies.
