A pub with a chequered past ..

The Guildford Hotel
1883: This grand old building was built
1993: The hotel was added to the state Heritage Register
2008: Guildford hotel was gutted by fire, causing 35 million dollars worth of damage.
2012: City of swan approves the development application for the restoration of the hotel.
2013: Around 300 people rally for the state Govt. and owners of the hotel to expedite the restoration of the site.
2014: Councillors vote to start planning process for the development of the hotel.
2015: Hotels roof partially completed.
2016: The Guildford Hotel is due to open in May.

A long slow process, today it was great to see this pub restored to its former glory.
