Under The Queen's Tower

The trip today has been a year in the making.

Around this time last year I (Annie) saw that my old college had an event which allowed a limited number of people to go on tours to otherwise closed bits of the college. One such place was the set of tunnels running under the college campus. We love a set of dusty tunnels - and in my day at the college their existence was just a rumour. So we headed into the college and... just missed the cut. The tour of the tunnels was full, but we had a great time up the top of the Queen's Tower instead.

So - this year we were ready. Noses pressed against the door at opening time, our names were first on the list.

The tunnels were great - dirty, chaoticly cramped in places and ridiculously hot - we loved them! Up and down ladders, past escaping steam, crawling through holes - we were glad of our hard hats. I (Annie) even crawled under a gap to stand directly under the Queen's Tower in its foundations. By my calculation, around 82 metres directly under where we were last time!

Chris volunteered to be the tour's back marker, so that he could get some shots with no people in them, and the blip today is one of them.

Yesterday back-blipped.
