Stuff and Nonsense

Star

Shattered!
Spent all day our birding and added 6 new species to my list.
RSPB Marshside near Southport was where we started and watched the avocets defending their eggs from a very naughty pair of jackdaws.
Then we found a nice pub in Sefton on the way home for lunch and then decided to go to Lunt Meadows in search of owls. Still no luck, but we spent ages watching a very noisy warbler which we thought was a grasshopper warbler, but turned out to be a sedge warbler.

We also saw some nice wildflowers along the way, bluebells(of course), cowslip, vetch and this white flower which I think is called star of Bethlehem. I thought it was quite unusual and very pretty, not something I have seen before.

Will catch up with comments tomorrow morning.
