Everlasting Life? Number 8...

Ely Blipmeet today and we learnt on the tour of the cathedral that in terms of numbers in a church, the number 8 represents everlasting life.  Hence the octagonal tower built in the 1400s to replace the one that fell down and the octagonal fonts to be found in many churches.  SHH and I went up the West Tower (nearly 300 steps) and this is the view of the Octagonal Tower from the older and higher West Tower.  Just look at those tiny cars down below!  In the extra you can see a bit of what a Blipmeet looks like!

Then it was on to Blipmeet number 2 of the day as the Earthy's were in Stratford so we went to see them on the way home from Ely!  Believe it or not, we had trouble finding a pub in Stratford of a Saturday evening...  But we did catch up on all the news!  Lovely!
