Cylinders

This weekends blip challenge word is CYLINDER

These are the majority of the cylinders that we have for diving. There are also a few out on loan at the moment.

On the bottom are our twin 10l cylinders. These are connected together at the top to create one large cylinder in fact. Using these we can have between 1.5 to 2.5 hours of diving before needing a fill, depending on the depth we go to.

On top of these are a couple of single 10L cylinders for shallower diving or pool training. Next to these are two 5l cylinders. These are used along with the twin set for deeper diving. In these we would carry a 50% oxygen mix. By doing this we can reduce the amount of decompression stops quite significantly or we can use them to build in an additional safety margin when deep diving.

The baby cylinder on top is used to inflate our marker buoys. At the end of a dive we normally send up a marker buoy to let the dive boat know where we are. It is often filled from your spare regulator. A slightly posher and safer way is to have a small cylinder attached to it that inflates it for you.

This is a banker blip just incase nothing happens tomorrow.
