The Way of Colour

Any old iron

19C with a strong breeze. Cloud increased during the day.

We took Maeve the Deerhound for her walk before lunch as is usual for our Sundays. The cereal crops in the fields were swaying in the strong breeze and we enjoyed watching them all the way down the bridle path to the shore. At the beach the tide was a fair way out but we enjoyed looking out to sea and some white on the tops of the waves.

I expected there would be a few people at the Fishermen's huts as there have been the last few Sundays. Some sitting on the seats outside the front doors chatting, some inside doing mysterious things (or perhaps not), and some working about. But hardly anyone today, so I got the chance to have another look at the little upturned boat that provided Friday's blip and gather some more shots. I hope to try a montage image from them sometime in the week.

As soon as we got to the huts today I saw that the corrugated iron that was being removed from one hut roof on Friday had been neatly stacked and was leaning against one of the working areas where painting of boats is done. I had a quick peek and soon had a shot or two and from those today's image was chosen. One rusty layer over another layer of thick painted colour, and a bonus of blue/grey at the side to keep the whole within the unintended series of the last few days :-)

Golf was watched later. Shock result. A large lead of several shots lost and an old favourite, who played arguably the best golf of the afternoon, taking the Open Championship almost by default. All very tense in the end and the Claret Jug going to a worthy champion.
