Matang Mountain

A distant mountain range visible from the hospital room towards the west. There is a radio and TV antenna/transmitter/receiver for the city.

I remembered tackling this mountain (Gunung Serapi) 649m (2129ft) when I was 12 years old. Dad, Mick (brother), church youth group and myself walked up the mountain in 3.5 hours and return in 1hr via a forestry road on a hot, humid and sunny day. Mum was not too impressed with our venture. She insisted that we cooled down at the waterfall/pool at the foothills after the walk.

I showed this photo to dad and told him the story and he simply smiled (acknowledging the fact). Memories are wonderful.
