when the sun shines

Roy had to go into Glossop today so as the weather was gloriously sunny we decided to go with him and have a wander round rather than go into the hills.
Glossop is a lovely Victorian town with beautiful old buildings and a pretty Town Hall square with lawns and seating looking onto the war memorial.
After tea and cake and a slice of Manchester tart for me in the indoor market,we had a wander round the shops. Fabulous food that we don`t have in the Midlands reminded me of my time spent in nearby Ashton-under-Lyne. Meat and tater pies, oven bottom muffins, teacakes both plain and currant....opening the old argument of what bread rolls are called in various parts of the country.
Sat in the square for a while just soaking up the sun and watching council workers do what council workers do
