A Finch in the Jam!

Right around Mother's Day the Baltimore Orioles migrate through our area. They only stick around a couple of days & I generally only see them if I remember to put out orange slices &/or raspberry jam to attract them. So last week, proud of myself for being prepared,  I put out the orange slices in the back yard & the jam in the front.....and never saw a single oriole! I know they came through, as my friend saw 2 of them eating out of the jelly jar in HER yard, but my orange slices went untouched & the only bird I've seen eating the jam is the red house finch! Who knew they even liked jam??  Oh well--at least it's getting eaten--if you look closely you'll see a little glob of it on it's beak!  :))
