The Strada Statale 12
dell'Abetone e del Brennero was established in 1928 and ran/runs from Pisa to Brennero. I have driven along many of it more than 500km. Like in the photo, at various points other roads have now been designated as the SS12.
These houses are dotted all the way along the original course and are in various states of repair.
