White and Black

White and black are but the extremes; it's the greys that bring this world to life.  A black-spined cactus (some sort of barrel cactus, I think) looks almost negative in black and white.  It is beautiful how the black spines and their dark shadows contrast with the nearly white plains of mottled skin.
