Pedal to the Metal

First day of summer, and the temperature reached an appropriately warm 102F/39C today. As a radio announce said this morning, "Summer isn't just cruising in today; it's got the pedal to the metal."

I picked my daughter up from day camp today thinking an ice cream might be a good way to kick off summer. When she got in the car, she said, "You know, mom, this is a perfect day for ice cream." I laughed and told her I was thinking the very same thing.
