Shanghai Surprise

Our last day in Shanghai and in China. We went to some water villages and did a bit of last minute souvenir shopping. There was a pottery with some really lovely Chinese tea sets, a bit different from all the usual stuff. One really beautiful set caught my eye and I suggested LooseCanon should buy it as he is the tea drinker, not me. Like a bull in a Chinese China shop he managed to break the lid of the pot he was looking at. So he has bought a pile of bits at huge expense and will carry out reconstruction surgery at home. I was a bit tight lipped at the time.
It remains to be seen whether I will get my little vase from the same shop home in one piece.
We went for a final meal out at the ' Seagull on the Bund ' restaurant. A few language problems led to us getting tepid white wine some extremely bony duck starter and a dish we hadn't ordered along with a few things we had. Anyway it all turned out well in the end , and we had a lovely wander around in the warm and lively atmosphere , admired all the bridal parties getting their pre wedding photos done against the stunning backdrop, and took a few more night shots over the water.
